The Julia Darling Memorial Poetry Prize pays $1,000 and publication in The Ocotillo Review. Reading fee $20. Send three poems up to 65 lines each. Chip Dameron will judge. The Chester B. Himes Memorial Fiction Prize pays $1,000 and publication in The Ocotillo review. Reading fee $20. Send one story of 1,000 to 4,200 words. Charlotte Gullick will judge. All entrants receive The Ocotillo Review with winner’s story and poem. Half of all revenue generated is donated to the research and treatment of Breast Cancer and Parkinson’s Disease. Kallisto Gaia Press Extends Deadline of Inaugural Chapbook Prize

Kallisto Gaia Press, publisher of literary magazine The Ocotillo Review and the annual Texas Poetry Calendar, has extended the deadline of its inaugural Contemporary Poetry Chapbook Prize to January 20. The winner receives an $800 cash prize, up to a $300 travel stipend, publication, and 20 author copies. The judge is 2018 Texas Poet Laureate Carol Coffee Reposa.
